The aim of such designs, in some cases, is to alleviate and redistribute the external loads of structural elements .This type of concrete formwork is used in projects ranging from load-bearing and curved-shaped foundations to secondary elements such as bridge parapets, cornices, and handrails, non-modular platforms, and non-planar concrete facades resembling domes. It requires steel arch requirements, design, production, and assembly.Moreover, creating a regular longitudinal arch in large cylindrical structures such as silos and similar concrete towers can be achieved with minor modifications to the production process of modular flat formwork and does not require the design of specific concrete formwork.

In circular structures with diameters ranging from 2 meters to 7.5 meters, curved formwork (arch formwork) without horizontal struts and upper and lower punch straps can be used, as explained in the formwork method. Finally, for circular concrete structures with diameters exceeding 7.5 meters, the use of modular formwork is possible. Therefore, for ease of execution, the preferred approach is to use finer panels in structures with smaller diameters and vice versa. For example, in structures with a 14-meter diameter, the optimal approach is to use flat concrete formwork with a width of 30 centimeters, while in structures with a diameter exceeding 20 meters, it is preferable to use concrete metal formwork with a width of 50 centimeters.

Featured and special views: Circular formatting is used in making featured and special views. These views are usually used to create curved geometric designs, and using circular formatting, these designs are easy to implement.
Concrete pipe: Circular molding is used in the construction of concrete pipes. Concrete pipes are used in irrigation, sewage, drainage and construction systems.
Circular formwork for structures with a diameter of less than 2 meters
The use of round and manhole concrete molds is effective for molding structures with a diameter of less than 2 meters. Round molds with high flexibility and ease of shape adjustment are the best option for small diameters. Also, the manhole mold with its cylindrical shape allows accurate and regular molding. These methods bring improvement of efficiency and accuracy in the implementation of the molding of circular structures.

Molding of arched walls with modular molds

Molding of arched walls using modular formwork limits the possibility of using arched forms for large structures. Arc moldings are not suitable for using these molds due to their integrated and curved shape. For this reason, modular forms with different sizes are a suitable alternative for large arched wall structures. With enough skill, molding can be done using modular molds without the need to design large arch molds. For example, it is better to use modular forms with a width of 30 cm in structures with a diameter of 14 and to use forms with a width of 50 cm in structures over 20 meters.

Also, it is possible to use modular forms in large cylindrical structures such as silos, tanks, and similar concrete towers. This method creates regular longitudinal arcs, and in some cases, it does not require a special arch concrete mold design.
