Large panel forms
The Large Panel Formwork system is similar to the Tunnel Formwork system, with the difference that in this system, only the walls are cast in concrete. In the Large Panel Formwork system, all the interior and exterior walls are concreted simultaneously in one stage, creating a seamless structure. This enables the building to withstand higher lateral loads, making it considered as one of the desirable construction systems. After constructing the walls of one floor, the contractor proceeds with the ceiling installation according to their preference, using methods such as modular, lightweight ceiling, and so on. Wall formwork system:
Stage One: After the execution of the foundation and reinforcement phase, the formworks are installed in their respective positions according to the corresponding plan. It is worth noting that the formworks are constructed as a unified whole, and their accessories, including the formwork adjustment brackets, concrete pouring platforms, shooting, intermediate bolts, etc., are installed.
Stage Two: After the execution of the first phase, the formworks are opened, and the ceiling is constructed according to one of the above-mentioned methods.
Stage Three: In this stage, after the reinforcement, the formworks are transferred to the second floor by a tower crane. The previously constructed ceiling serves as a support bracket, and the bracket for the outer wall is mounted in place using the bolts created in the previous phase, acting as a support bracket for the formwork. This cycle is repeated until the execution of the final floor.
The unity and large surface area of the formwork for casting exposed concrete walls are among the unique advantages of the Large Panel Formwork system Since the accessories of the formwork in this system are exceptionally minimal compared to modular formwork, and it doesn’t require any specific backing, opening and closing of the panels are accomplished in the shortest amount of time. Additionally, the movement of the formwork is quick and easy, facilitated by the lifting hook integrated into the formwork.
While the price of the Large Panel Formwork system is higher compared to modular concrete formwork, the exceptionally fast execution, outstanding concrete surface quality, and the elimination of most intermediate bolts and other accessories result in a significant reduction in the overall project cost.
In the large panel formwork system, there is the possibility to install openings and frames for doors and windows according to the plan. Additionally, a shooting board for pouring concrete onto the formwork is installed to facilitate the concrete casting process. Lifting the formworks is also done using the special support bracket of the Large Panel Formwork.
In the design of the modular Large Panel Formwork, efforts have been made to minimize the weight of the panels while maintaining their quality and strength, in order to make them economically justifiable. The approximate weight of the modular Large Panel Formwork is 55 kilograms.
